35" tire choice as DD?

Is there anyone out there running 35" tires on their DD? I'd like some ideas.

(I saw another posting looking for 33" tires as their DD and I'm borrowing their idea)

I have my 35x12.5 on in the summer. I like them but theyre not good in snow or on ice. They practically float bc theyre so wide. So theyre just a summer tire for me...

I run 315/70r-17 MT Baja MTZs. They ride great and wear fast.

but your profile says you have a 2.5 stock gears/ all stock. a 35 is going to be whole lot of tire to turn. you will need to regear at least. lift and whole lot of other upgrades. in the end that 4 banger is going not be happy as a DD with 35's. you know with a rim they weight in at 90lbs+ each.

Good lord! I never bothered to look at the profile! Lots to do before you're ready to go to 35s, castorriver.

I agree!!! But my goal is running my YJ with 35's.

So I have to start somewhere and I've been doing some research before I start my mods. I was kicking around going with 31" tires with a spartan locker and a small lift for a cost of about 2,500 or so. Or skip the lift and do a shackle lift with TJ rear fenders and flat fenders on the front.

But if I went to 35's next year, the tires, locker and wheels are a waste of money (wheels if I also upgrade to an explorer rear axle). So what's a guy on a budget to do. Sure I could sell some of the equipment used to recoup some of the money. I'm dizzy thinking about it.
