32x11.5 tire on stock tire carrier
Will a 32x11.5 tire fit on the stock carrier? If not, anything I do that cost a limited amount of money? Thanks

What I have read is yes, I know with a BL for sure it will but for the 3rd brakelight to work you need to do this...supposibly.
http://www.4x4xplor.com/3rdbrakelightextension.html hope this helps, I hope it works I plan on doing a 32x11.5 tire on my stock for a while before I get the tire carrier |

It depends on the backspacing of your wheels too. The key is to have those rubber bumpstops tight against your tire... especially when you torque down the lug nuts. Save up for a tire carrier though, it is not a good idea to carry a 32" tire on your stock tailgate.

ive had my 32 on the stock carrier for several months now without any issues
i dont have a 3rd brake light, and ive got a wheel with 4" BS so the tire barely touches the bumpstops. my tailgate IS starting to creak a little when i open it, but it dosent rattle and its not loose. im gonna take it off soon

Will it fit? YES
You may have to shave or extend your rubber bumpers depending on how much backspacing your wheels have. Mine had 3.25" of BS and i had to extend the 3 bumpers by about 1.5 inches (i used hockey pucks). If your tire is on a stock wheel you may have to shave them a bit. I just got a rear bumper with a carrier as my hinges were starting to warp slightly after about a year of having it on there. |
