is a 315x75r16 a 35 in tire?

i was wondering because i cant find certain tires in a 16 inch rim beside the 315x75r16, is that a 35?

They run pretty true to 35", More than most 35-12.50-15's. But a 315-75-16/315-70-17 are 35" tires.

I think someone here or on another forum explained it to me before.

315 is the width in MM. 1 inch is roughly 25MM. So 315 / 25 ~ 12.5.
75 is the aspect ratio, which means the sidewall height compared to the width. 75% of 315 = 236. 236 / 25 ~ 9.5.
So take that 9.5 and double it, and add it to the rim diameter. 19+16 = 35.

Good Calculators. But even better it gives a list of sizes for your calculation that you click on and it tells you all the tires that are made in that size. Then Follow those links to compare prices from online stores. It's the whole package when looking for tires.
