2004 Grand Cherokee wheels on 1999 Cherokee Sport?

Hi, I have a 1999 Cherokee Sport with stock suspension and stock wheels that are just so ugly. My buddy has a set of 16" wheels that he believes came off a 2004 Grand cherokee that he wants to give me. Now Im wondering if they will work on my cherokee or not. He lives 60 miles away and i dont wanna waste a trip up there only to find out that they wont work. So if someone can help me out that would be great thanks.

No they will not work, the WJ jeeps have a lug pattern of 5x5, and the TJ, YJ, XJ line like your cherokee have a 4.5 pattern, you could always get spacers.
