17x7.5" wheels - do they even exist

Posting from Tacoma World, but thought I would ask here as well.

I realize they're not very popular, but to run 235 or even 245 tires, the manufacturers state that the widest approved wheel you can run is 7.5. Trouble is I can't find wheels this size anywhere. I'm sure one is out there somewhere, but already my choice of wheel is extremely limited.

Is anybody here running this size of tire, and if so, what wheels are you using? Or is that wheel spec just a "suggestion", and it would be okay to run 8"?

Gracias, Jeep-friends.

Why not just get a 17x7 rim? Do you really need to go to the max?

Yeah, just because the widest approved width is 7.5" doesn't mean that's what you need. I've seen 235's on anything from 6-8" wide wheels (in the 15" wheel world anyway).

Anyway, yes, 17x7.5 exists. I know it exists from the factory for some Jeeps, and it exists for factory Toyota Taco/4Run/FJ wheels.

This one is 17x7.5.

This one is 17x7.

Since his post is originally at Tacoma World, I'm thinking he's got a Taco or a 4Runner, not a Jeep.
