16" E load range tires on CJ7

Wanted to see if anyone has used any E load range tires on a jeep? Been thinking about putting my 285/75r16 tires off my truck onto my jeep. Would have a place to go with my still ok tires and have some interchangeability.

I use load range E tires on my Cherokee. They do make it ride like a lumber wagon and I feel almost every bump in the road. I have them at 30psi and that's as "hard" as i feel comfortable.

For fun once, I inflated them to the full 80psi and tried to drive. It definitely bounced off of the road on bumps.

At 26-30PSi they aren't terrible.

I figured they would ride rough. But also figure the extra ply's would improve its ability to avoid flat tires.

For what its worth, I can run mine with 0 psi and they just look a little soft.

Why don't you check out Goodyear MT/R's with kevlar instead? Then you'll have more puncture resistance with a lighter load rating.

Because I want to be able to run 285/75r16 e range tires that I run on my truck (as mentioned in my initial post).

I also don't want to spend big money for tires on my jeep. Functional gets it done for me.
