Also, a CD player in the wrangler that is designed to be in the Jeep elements. I've gone through 3 factory stereos, that have all died after an offroad trip. I think its mostly dust, but it would be nice to have one that was similar to marine grade as an option, that was more sealed at the faceplte and could withstand the occasional rain storm with the top off, dusty trails, and all the bouncing around that occurs in a Jeep offroad.

Not sure if you changed it on the JK but in the TJ, the metal tabs that were required for the front bolts of the hardtop to thread into, right next to the driver and passenger on the tub, it would be nice if those were fixed in place and not loose. Those things drop off when removing the hardtop and then fall down into the open seatbelt assembly below and are impossible to find. This can be very frusterating.

A discreet hood lock on the wrangler would be nice too. Something that was lockable with a key but did not have to be locked at all times. Think like a glovebox, it can lock but doesnt need to be locked. Still retain the plastic hold down straps on the side of the hood of course, and dont use an incab hood release as a wrangler is often topless. I mention this because I know people who have had their batteries stolen out of their wranglers. I now run an aftermarket hood lock, but its a pain to deal with as it must always be locked, when unlocked it must physically be removed from the Jeep.

An air filter on the cabin air intake would be nice. After running a dusty trail and then turning the cabin fan on, I usually get this blinding blast of dust into the cab area. This is very annoying.

All that may sound pretty negitive, but I love my Jeep and I just the the above areas as areas to improve. Thanks for spending time here and listening to our suggestions.
Thanks for taking the time to give us your suggestions - we appreciate it!

As a current owner of an XJ, I would love to see something similar in size, and capability (solid front and rear axles, true transfer case, ect.) I like the new liberty, but I have a problem with the 3.8L V6, the IFS, and the "luxury". What I have loved about the XJ is its simplicity. I realize that times have changed since the birth of the XJ, but how about a "base" trim with just the basics (crank windows, manual seats, MANUAL TRANSMISSION, simple sound system, ect.)

I love the idea of a Jeep truck, as long as it is small. That is what made the Comanche great in my mind. It was capable but small. The market seems to be moving away from compact pickups to "midsize" pickups. Defeats the purpose of having a smaller truck when it costs just as much as a full size! Once again I would like to see a cheap, small, capable Jeep truck.

Midsize of course, we don't need a full-size rig that can't fit on the trails
good towing rate, 33" tires factory. Basically a power wagon in a mid-size Jeep format V-8 would be nice, but of course efficiency is going to be an issue with the ever increasing gas prices

I know people hate the Compass - but i think its because Jeep approached it wrong. It should have been a WRX competitor. AWD (no 4wd or 4-Lo) with three engine choses: 1)hybrid (50mpg), 2) NA gas(35mpg & 180hp), 3) turbocharged gas (20mpg & 250 hp).

and another vote for a diesel + 6-speed option in all wrangler models

NO!! That defeats the purpose.

Good evening.

I've got the base stereo in my 07 JK, the single disc RES. When I use the AUX input, there is hum/static ONLY when the device (iPod, xm2go, etc.) is powered from the Jeep. If I remove power to the device, the signal is crystal clear. I've changed cabling - no difference. I've verified the EXACT symptoms in many other JKs as well as a slew of Avengers, Sebrings, Nitros with of course the RES stereo. I've brought it to the attention of a few Service Managers, but nobody has heard of anything.
Anything on your end?

Thanks

With all this talk about diesels, perhaps some of us would like a flex fuel vehicle that can run on e85. Also, a conversion kit that is OEM supported to run older Jeeps on e85 would be something to consider.

More low end torque, or lower 1st and 2nd gears. My 07 Rubicon just didn't pull like a jeep should. It ran great on the highway though.

Kinda like a work truck ? Maybe with a rear locker ?
I'm sure a full-size Jeep truck would be of interest to some/many, but honestly I think a smaller JK-based truck would sell better in today's (and tomorrow's) market. That said, had a Megacab-sized Jeep truck been available back in 2006 when we bought our Ram, I'd definitely be rocking a 7-slot Cummins truck instead of a crosshair grille.

Either way, it's definitely got to be available in a "work truck" model. Bare-bones, stripped down, rubber floor, maybe vinyl seats, etc. all the way up to fully loaded Rubicons.

Also.. I would LOVE to see a Hybrid Jeep Wrangler JK. I have been looking at the 2008 Ford Escape simply because of it's great gas mileage and the fact that it's an SUV.

So... Jeep Pickup.. #1 Choice.. Full Size / Mid Size

# 2 Choice.. Hybrid Jeep Wrangler (Since my JK gets horrible horrible gas mileage)..

I would pay around $30k for both.
Thanks for being loyal to Jeep !

We love you guys.

And yes, we love our Jeeps too. Thanks for all the good input guys !

A diesel engine that can be purchased separately for drop-in to the TJ series. This would be an instant sales success.

Is power or economy more important in a diesel?
Why not make an on-board switch that tells the ECU to use two different mappings? I think the Land Rovers did this with the LR3. An off-road setting would optimize the air/fuel ratio for power and then lean it out for an on-road setting. That would let us have more fuel for when we arrive at the off-road sites!

Would you want a FSJ with the Cummins diesel?

Is it towing capacity your after ?

Or the style of a Jeep?

Pretty much, keep in mind look at the size of the new gms and ford trucks, throught the past 10 years they have been getting bigger but, more fuel efficent

ok ok, no IFS...but you get the idea. the Dakota frame could be used to share parts...the Engineers need to make it cost effective for large scale production. Solid axles, mid-sized pickup (JK frame?) D44 HP in front, D60 in back. Diesel option, V8 option, and manual window option. I actually like manual crank windows.
