Thinking about it, how about one of those GM engines that shut down two of the cylinders on the highway for better gas mileage...or a flex fuel?
Oh, and a manumatic. Because I love stick, but I can't do it in city.
All in a XJ package...
I'd also love to see a lightweight, 4-banger/hybrid Willys design. Small, topless (or optional), and reminiscent of the old army jeeps...the original!

Seriously though, WJ and WK had Mopar options for the "Micron Air" filter system, and of course we're always gauging interest in offering these features on other vehicles.

Not entirely true, I run my Jeep with the top/doors off and the HVAC system off when on the trail, later, when I turn it on (say crank the heat with the top/doors off at night) it blast dirt out all over the place getting into your eyes and whatnot if the tops off.

Why does it have to be one or the other? I'm sure there's a good compromise in there. If not, have one or the other as an option, power for those who are more heavy on offroading, and might ahave another vehicle for a daily driver, and economy for those that aren't so much or use theirs as a daily driver.

As far a price goes a down sized pickup with solid axles, 6 speed manual, 20K for a stripper model would be reasonable.

[QUOTE=VnutZ;4997861]A diesel engine that can be purchased separately for drop-in to the TJ series. This would be an instant sales success.
And - how much would you pay for said kit ?
This will not be a cheap option !
But with almost a million TJs on the road .. Hmmmmm

thats what i'm saying. a Turbocharged 4-cyl AWD version. give it 250hp and let it race against the WRX's and Evo-8's on the rally circuit. Jeep could drum up some nice oversees market there, and younger speed demon market in the US.

Well - I, and many others, drive our Jeeps every day - and wheel them when the chance arises. Its a dual purpose vehicle to most customers.
Of course, we recognize some are dedicated trail rigs. [ not that we would endorse that ! ]

For the MK's - an Off-Road package (skid plates, etc) without the CVT2L Crawler. And a factory lift kit.

Not a "future projects" comment.
But with all the posts on a pickup.. Any thoughts on actually building the Gladiator?
BTW... Square headlights and leafs would be the only way the market would go for it..

How about MOPAR replacement bodies for CJ's. It would be great to get something made in the USA and have it actually fit.
I would also go for a $2000 premium to get a diesel Grand Cherokee.
And do the JT. For the good of all mankind.
