Unfortunately, due to the nature of the soft top, there's no real way to put a rain gutter on it like a conventional vehicle. TJ's suffered from this as well (my TJ dribbles on me)...

You can use the new cable top on a 09 model JK - but you must use the 2010 door rails - the frames that go around the door. The accessories group will have these tops and rails as a kit in the next 4-5 weeks

in the ax-5 transmission the synchros have a problem with older lubricants. people suggest using motor oil as lubricant to avoid synchro wear. Is there a manufacturer of synchros made of a different metal, or do they have to be brass?

The vehicles are engineered at different times by different teams. The technology may change or a better part may be found. this is why the radio speeds may be different.

I have not been able to find the weight restriction for the spare tire and wheel on the tailgate. Do you know the maximum weight that can be safely added to the spare tire tailgate bracket without having to worry about damaging the tailgate?

1/2 Door kits
"The 1/2 door kits are still in development. They will be available by the new year. The kits will be 2 front doors in a box, and all of the components. price will be just under a grand for a pair of doors. Dealers may discount this price. You will have to paint the doors, but they will be primed. We will also have kits for the upper soft windows, and for the rear doors. We have been delayed getting product out for the new ram truck."

Any further development on this now that the bankruptcy has past? I saw the Bestop versions now offered on Mopar's accessory site. There's a dealer on Long Island that's selling their own kit which seems to be comprised the same as the one you mentioned last year, though LI is selling it for $3200+, which equals what the individual parts would cost MSRP. I wound up going with the LI kit as I didn't want to run the risk of not getting them with all the rumors regarding Fiat's take-over going around.

Can you talk some about the fires in auto trannys on the JK? I'm not expecting you to expose any liability - I'm just looking for more info on the issue and ways to prevent it - recommendations on a tranny cooler, ideas for re-routing the vent on the tranny that leaks the fluid, or anything else you can say that would be helpful.
