And if possible, could you please explain the purpose of track bars on the YJ, specifically the rear track bar.
They improve the vehicle dynamics while driving on road.

On my 2005 Rubicon, why is there such a hesitation when giving it gas? My 2000 TJ is very responsive and has literally no hesitation.

Colors we always change, so every year there will be new ones. The new JK had to meet some new goverment regs - so we had to make it wider. I hear you on the plastic.
Thanks,

Thanks for answering my questions on the Nitro 4.0, and thanks for doing this!

I put a muffler relocation kit on my JK Unlimited (moved from behind to in front of the rear axle) and I'm not really happy with all the noise. I think you guys were on to something by putting that big stock muffler back there. Do you think the interior would be quieter if I just move the aftermarket muffler back to the stock location behind the axle? Or does the muffler produce the same sound in the driver's seat no matter where it is located?

One thing I don't like about getting a new vehicle is lack of full scale options. For example, I want a rubicon for the lockers and electronic swaybar disconnect, but I don't want AC or satellite radio. I have to pay more for a options that I don't care about to get the options that I do want. Your not the only company that does this and I'm sure its a marketing thing.

Thanks again for your time.

And thanks for the Q&A!
You said you like to hear ideas, so here they go. I not only speak for myself, but SEVERAL in the Jeep community. And I speak with true heart.

Jeep is more than just a Jeep to us, as you know it's a life style, community, way of living, etc.

Please start to advertise in some way the Jeep Wave. Whether it be commericials, adding into the owner manual, or teaching sellers to talk to the customers about it.

Please keep solid axles in the Jeep Wrangler Line, I couldn't imagine it with IFS or IRS. I would be gravely disappointed.

Please build a J8 for American Customers. I can't state this enough.

Please build a Gladiator.

Please make SOME KIND of full size pick up truck Jeep. If I could, I would drive nothing but Jeep for the rest of my life. However, that being said, an MJ will not suffice being it is too small. As well as J10's, J20's, And Gladiators are far too old and gas mileage is far too low to make them good DD's, Tow Rigs, or Work Horses. My father and I will drive up north tomorrow to purchase two full size Jeep trucks if you would only produce them again.

Please do not produce the Jeep Treo Concept. That's just wrong.

This is in reguards to accessories, not the Jeep Wrangler line itself. Please stop slapping the Jeep name and history onto less-than-quality accesories. I.E., strollers, knives, mountain bikes, etc. Someone said the other day "they advertise to Outdoorsman, then expect them to ride crappy Mountain Bikes. Now, I am not knocking the prevous products in any manner as I can't testify to their durabilty being I've never owned them; I am saying that, if what I read in the reports are true it concerns me. I would like to have a quality pocket knife, watch, or towel that will last, just like my TJ. Also, I would like a stroller I can depend on with my child when I get one. P.S.-Make a good Jeep car seat?

Please keep the 7 slotte grille, removeable doors, and foldeable windshield in the Jeep Wrangler Line up. Those three traits are what connect us most back to the Willys. Which, is something we all can respect.

I think it is AMAZING that Jeep is good enough to it's customers to have sit down talks with us, all be it over the internet, it is a good thing. The fact that you're taking time out of your personal lives to do this, make it's all the more better to the Jeep Community.

Jeep has made a huge impact in my life, and I thank you for it. I can remember as a child my father driving a Jeep, and we've had one Jeep Wrangler in some form or manner since. I will continue to keep this tradition and life style alive with my children.

Continue to do us proud, I owe y'all a beer and youv'e got our support.

I will be graduating in a few years with a mechanical engineering degree from Sacramento State University here in California.

What would it take for me to get a resume to yall. What kind of credentials do you have to have to be a Jeep engineer.

I know it's not Wrangler related but I would really like to get some 1st person input on this subject. THANKS AGAIN

While it wasn't perfect, the 42RLE was the best choice based on the parameters and available plant capacity. Also understand that the way EPA tests fuel economy (or the way they did then) favors a transmission that shifts up quickly and has a fairly deep overdrive, so it helped us with our EPA fuel economy numbers.

The only thing I would say is that changing the axle ratio can change this characteristic....
while changing the axle ratio does help, the transmission is still a turd. with 4.88s and 33s, the transmission shifts into OD at 37mph. 37mph!!! That tells me its a load based calculation done in the TCM, not based on RPM or speed.

Mine was rebuilt under warranty at the dealership at 52k, didn't hit the 80% rule I'm still angry you didn't make 2004 LJ's with NV3550's in them, I'll never understand that decision.

Stricter emissions requirements required a less aggressive calibration.

Uh, you definately have way too much tough weight. The max tounge weight should be 300 to 345 lbs MAX. You need to weigh the tough on your trailer.

This looks totally wrong and out of sorts. I have tested and seen many TJs, this looks wrong.

Move the extra weight to the rear of the trailer. Or, look at a load leveling hitch.

On the rear it seems as if it might be possible that the exhaust mayhave cooked the grease out of them.

How often / under what conditions should the u-joints be lubricated? is this something that is easily identified during a normal inspection, or is it hard to identify?

Thank you,
The u-joints are lube for life so it would appear that the previous owners lack of preventative maintenace is gonig to cost you a few bucks.

Make sure that the resistor is cooled properly. It must have air flowing across it when the fan is running. Also, the fan motor could be drawing too much current. A good mechanic can measure the draw and compare it with the specs in the manual. ( I assume the adjuster you are referring to is the blower resistor)

Stricter emission requirements from 2000- on have robbed some useable horse power.
