1) Freedom Top can still separate in its 3-pieces even with headliner attached
2) increase heat retention inside (winter in New England and all)
3) a color other than white. Same dark gray like the inside of the soft top is fine. Or two colors: dark gray for the folks with dark gray interior, and Khaki for us khaki interior folks?
4) installation instructions!!!
As for the factory half doors...Guess I shouldn't have bought the "factory kit" from the Long Island dealer. $3200+ was a lot, but I really wanted factory half doors, not after-market, when if they're Bestop.
Thank you for you reply and for taking the time to speak to us owners.

And just what do we need the SRT Engineers for?

It's probably the favorite transfer case of a lot of Grand Cherokee Jeepers. I'd even be interested in seeing something like a more robust Quadradrive. I like that 4wd system. But perhaps something targeted especially to Wranglers with the option of 2wd and then full-time 4wd/part-time full locking 4wd, and then, of course, 4-low with a true full-lock. Just giving one more control over their Jeep. The Unlimited in my eyes is an attempt to mesh the ruggedness of the Wrangler with some of the comforts of the Grand Cherokee, without sacrificing its rugged roots.

Interesting suggestion.. we are listening . . .

I know this question does not relate to anything new or any company plans, I was only hoping you guys would provide some insight about maintaining the vehicle in good shape working with a different fuel, after all, it is out of warranty

This is out of our knowledge base, the only LPG system I have driven I have is on my father in law's 46 Alice Chalmers.

In my 07 JK ive noticed that alot of the interior parts are starting to rust ... or oxidize. Mainly on the emergency brake, under the steering wheel, and some of the seat bolts are taking a beating. Ive never left the top down in the rain.
Why wasnt the bare metal in the interior better coated to stop this from happening?
Again, thanks for the time !

Not sure if it would be cost effective or not, but could smething be done to make the paint on the hard tops a bit more durable? The lot attendants at my dealership can scratch the paint on the Freedom Panels just by looking at them. Makes it hard to sell when there's a white scratch on a black hard top.

Two questions regarding things that happened to me more then 3 times each.
1; I would be driving normally and would be approaching a stop light, slowing down from 30 to 20 and down to a stop then right before the jeep comes to a complete stop it gives like a little rev and then it sorta jerks back.
2; I would be driving all around town, all different types of roads, then I would slow down to about 10-5 mph and would turn into any driveway with a slight incline or a side street with a slight incline, the jeep would then attempt to down shift I guess and I would feel it rev and not actually turn the wheels and then it catches...
What would be the cause of these issues and are they related?
Thank you engineers for taking out the time to answer our questions! And I apologize for the long question I just felt I needed to be clear.

Given that your trans fluid is at the right level, this behavior is consistent with the 42REL trans in the TJ.

Suggestion
Lemme help you folks save some money. Wranglers are selling quickly, and right next door at the Toledo plant you have Dodge Nitro R/T's rolling down the line with 4.0L V6 engines. Since Chrysler doesn't sell nearly as many Dodge Nitro R/T's as JK Wranglers, let's just throw some of those 4.0s in the Jeep. Looks like a far superior engine to me--longer stroke and higher compression so it has some torque, and obviously a SOHC 24-valve engine will crush the pushrod 3.8 on the highway. The Dodge site used to even have a dyno chart for this engine on the Nitro page, and the low-end torque looked far superior than the charts I found for the 3.8. And in the minivan line, the EPA estimates are actually BETTER for the 4.0 than the 3.8, even when equipped with identical automatic transmissions.
I know, Jeep people might not believe in aluminum blocks and over head cams. But I've driven Nissan XTerras and Toyota FJ Cruisers with 6-speed manuals hooked to their 4.0s, and it made a believer out of me.
Give me this engine with the 6-speed in a JK and you will truly have built the perfect vehicle. We can even put the old 4.0L badges on. Heck, just sneak one of those engines in a JK on the assembly line one day, I won't tell anyone....

Hi and thanks for your time!
I have a question about a 2005 TJ Rubicon if I can.
How do you change the bulb in the engine compartment lamp?
I tried to pry the cover (lens) off but no luck. What am I doing wrong?
Thanks again and 7 SLOTS FOREVER!

JeepEngineers,
Please provide a TSB update for the 42RLE transmission to address the terrible shift points. The shift points are terrible on the 03-06 TJ/LJ 42RLE. 42RLE owners frequently experience sluggish shifts and worst of all - Overdrive kicks in at 45mph in stock configuration. Shifting into OD at 45mph results in the 4.0L dropping to 1200-1300 rpms, bogging down and looses speed, then downkicks into 3rd, re-gains speed, then shifts back into OD at 45mph. It will do this all day long with or without the cruise control on. By shifting manually, I've determined with 3.73s and 30s or 31s, 2nd gear should hold until 38-39mph, 3rd should hold until 52-53mph, and OD should only engage above 55mph. While driving mixed city/highway at 45mph, with OD disengaged (3rd gear), I get 20-22mpg verified via old fashioned calculations and using a ScanGauge II, but I get 15-17mpg at 45mph with the constant lugging of the 4.0L in Overdrive (4th gear). In this case, more RPMs = less engine load and less throttle input required to maintain the same speed.
Can you please provide new programming to address the terrible shift points of the 42RLE?

It'd probably need to be something more like the Detroit Tru-trac LSD's that are all mechanical and more likely to last through major wheeling. That and the more electronic stuff the more worried I get. If there could be some way of pressing a button and locking the lsd into a full e-locker... That's one of the things that I like about the QDII system. It just doesn't give you enough control. Half of the fun of Jeepin' is controlling stuff. I even downshift on mountain roads just to feel like I have a manual sometimes. But I love the automatic!
Oh, and btw, why not bring back the 4.0, but perhaps stroke it to start to at 4.7...? Now that would be fun to own. Just to think, the more capable the Jeep comes out of the factory, the more we can upgrade it.
