03 Rubicon launched with all the wires. Once it was in production, that changed with various packages. We stopped giving away unused wiring....

Try an aftermarket mirror from GenTex

I know you can't comment, however, I had an idea about the two-mode trans used in the Durango Hybrid. Is there room to fit some batteries under the floor of the JK unlimited?....hmmm 20-24mpg in the city sounds pretty good to me...I think it would be THE perfect vehicle.

Intermittant wiper switch fit TJ SE?

I would really love to have intermittant wipers as they chatter terribly after just a few swipes when left on.

Will the switch from a sport work in my SE?

Thanks for your help.

Oh and any reason I can get a spicer replacement outer axle shaft for a D30 for $60, but Mopar wants $150 for the same piece?

You guys probably missed my last question way back up on page two...

Since there is no real significant difference internally on the 231 transfer case used in the YJ and TJ, why did the YJ need the vacuum-operated passenger-side axleshaft disconnect but the TJ doesn't?

Okay... "stock" it is...

How "self contained" is the airbag system in the TJ Wranglers? Is it simply computer + two bags + the harness that joins them together and provides power, or does it interface with the engine ECU etc?

Feel free to PM me if it's not something you want to discuss publicly.

But then my next approach is just to order everything from the parts catalogue of an '03 model (or strip a junkyard model)

My only concern with that approach really is obviously the airbag controller reports back that everything is okay on start-up, making the airbag warning light go off.

Was the protocol for that "I'm okay" message ever changed?

I think it's a bit more involved than just the switch..... not sure on the exact details.

I think mine on page 5 got missed. But it is understandable. This thread is fast paced.

I have an 07 Sahara Unlimited soft top.

Is there an aftermarket kit to add a center hold-down latch for the soft top? Not sure if that is the right term. The latches that secure the top to the windshield frame. It could hook to the windshield tie down that is already welded there.

If it is a windy day, at highway speeds the wind noise is god awful. I have to reach up and pull down on it and the noise goes away. A third latch would solve that.

I just purchased a Fleetwood Evolution E1 trailer to tow behind my Jeep and the power department is very lacking on hills, I cannot locate side-mirrors to see around the trailer and the tail of my Jeep sits close to the bump-stops. I will be installing helper-air-bags this weekend to try to compensate for the sagging - but - is there anything else that I can do?
Would a Mopar Performance Dana 60 interest you? As well as the matching Dana 44 front? Both from the military version of the Wrangler. The dealer communication is about to go out on these parts and more that will be available in the very, very near future.

There's nothing you can do to increase the tow rating of the vehicle. Towing mirrors will help visibility if you can find any to add to a JK (or your TJ or YJ). Again, air bags may help the vehicle attitude, but won't increase towing capacity. A load leveling hitch may help with attitude as an alternative. Don't forget trailer brakes to help stop.
