Is there a possibility of the Liberty's Sky Slider Roof appearing on other models like the Cherokee.

Continuing the open air themes, has Jeep explored a roll down window instead of the lift up glass on the tailgate...

Geeky engineering question:

I'm a stress analyst and we use a finite element program called ANSYS. It's real popular in the gas turbine business. I would LOVE to do some work on Jeeps.

What program do you guys use for your stress analysis? Any use for an ANSYS guy?

Well, as usual we can't comment on future products but keep the suggestions coming!

Another question... CAN Bus head units... does Jeep provide a way to mute them? I have a mute output from my Navigation System and my Bluetooth hands free system. I know people have difficulty in the JK Wrangler, is the Commander the same and is there a solution?

As engineers of the Commander, what feature(s) are you most proud of? or what part do you stand back and say "Hey, I really like how we did that!"

Does that make sense?

Isn't it nice to say you work for "CHRYSLER" again? I know i like saying it.

Anyway, there is a problem with the Tire Pressure Monitor light coming on at random times. Has there been a solution implemented yet? I would like to see this fixed before I get my '08 vehicle.

It's funny, I have the name of my contacts when it went into the hands of the engineers back in November, but I never think about sending an e-mail. Well, now I thought of it.

Sorry to hear the problems with your Jeep. Unfortunately I don't have the history of your vehicle to perform a specific root cause. Some things that I can recommend off the record: There is a final drive control module software reflash that was made available to our customers a couple months ago (part number ending in AM). This reflash helps eliminate false failures. Second, check the connector going into your transfer case. Look to see if any corrosion is built up on your terminals. If so have your dealer clean it out and reseal it.
Regarding your key issue. We've recognized our customers concerns and Jeep has made a design change requiring more force to move the key to the off position. The change was implemented late 2007 model year.
Thanks for your comments. Hope this information helps.
Keep JEEP'n

When I went to order my JK, there was one very nice 4x4 Jeep Commander that was being sold with a factory lift on it.

I wanted to know more about the lift, but the dealership only said that it was a factory lift. Can you share some insight about what kind of lift is available either from the factory or through the Jeep parts department and what size wheel/tire combo can be fitted without having to do extensive modifications to the driveline equipment?

Thanks in advance and thanks again for being here.

There are no factory lifts offered at this time. Unfortunately your dealer was incorrect. There are a number of aftermarket alternatives, but naturally we can't endorse any of them for legal reasons.

Do you have a premium Tire pressure system in your '07 (you can read the pressures in the cluster)?
As far as 2008, the Tire pressure system has changed, so you will not see the exact same issues between the two model years.

what kind of transmission gearing is there (1st gear) across the various engines?

Though I wheel through the valley of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil: For thou lockers are with me;
Thy lift and thy tires, they comfort me.
Thou preparest a spotter before me in the presence of mine obstacles;
