Maybe a dumb question, but i'm curious to know if anything has been changed to keep our wranglers from rusting out from under us (different metal treatment, different paint...)? From what i understand the yj had a galvanized dip, which really didn't do much for alot of us yj'ers. the only thing that kept my yj from rusting out from under me was a massive rear main seal and tranny leak. Also one more thing. i hate to swear this early in the evening, but i work for a ford dealership while i'm going through school and have heard that several dealers actually do aftermarket warranty work. just wondering if there's any jeep dealers out there that do aftermarket work, and warranty them at the same time?

Not for nothing and your time is greatly appreciated...BUT, there has to be more to this answer than that. if you guys read the forums, which I am not sure if you do or not, but this is a major problem and the same problem for everyone who has it. Only when it gets warm or hot, feeling in the steering wheel and foot pedals. Is this an issue that you are not aware of yet..because I think like myself, a lot of people have been waiting for a TSB or something....cause it is bad!

Other than adjusting your steering wheel, trac bar, and your toe in, is there any thing else that needs to be done alignment wise to the front end of a tj after installing a lift?

Correct...at idle it is not putting out 160 amps.

Is there any headroom? 40 amps perhaps? I could run a smaller amp...

Otherwise it is Ohio Generator for an upgrade...

Thanks for the techauthority link.

Last topic, I promise.

I'm considering replacing my YJ's 4.2L with a TJ's 4.0L fuel injected engine and have a couple of questions.
1. Would there be a noticeable improvement in performance and fuel effeciency?
2. Would the 4.0L bolt up directly up to my Yj's transmission and drivetrain?
3. What other hurdles and expense would be involved in such a swap?

The lock mechanism is beefed up too to account for the larger tires.
My bad, I miss read, not locking. Any positive locking mechanism will not unlock when torque bound. That is, if you lock the axle and turn a corner on a high traction surface the torque built up in the system will hold the lock mechanism in position. To unlock it you will have to turn in the opposite direction.

There was a color my GF liked that they stopped production on in April of 2007. Is this common for Jeep to do? I am curious. I am new to Jeeps...own a few Land Cruisers

I will take your comments back and have the dynamics guys take a close look.

We test our Jeep vehicles on various trails across the country. You name a trail, we have probably taken a test vehicle across the trail.
Some Trails
  • Rubicon Trail
  • Tellico- North Carolina
  • Moab- Utah
  • Attica- Indiana
  • Indepandance Trail- Colorado
While we try not to test to destruction, that is how we learn about our vehicles many times. However, our thought is "we break parts, so you won't"

Thanks

If I remember correctly, the stock sub runs on the rear speakers only. I am not sure how an aftermarket radio will work.

What I can tell you is the stock sub has a dedicated amp inside it. It uses the direct output from the radio.

I think . . .. been awhile !

There are alot of forum members that have dented their cowls when taking there doors off/on before they attach the limiting strap. Alot of times, the door will swing out accidently and even with a very light hit it will dent the cowl. Has Jepp thought about revising the mirror location to prevent this?

Question for all the engineers:

If YOU could design a Jeep with NO interference from Jeep HQ, what diesel engine, available today would you put into your jeep and why?

Thanks all !!
