Yea, Yea.. I know. It was an oversight.

Had a few "Comments" on this over the years. Mostly deep water guys.

Sorry.

Yes, the 4.10 was replaced on with 3.73 on non-Rubicon models for improved fuel economy.

2008 Sarhara will have 3.73 axle ratio. The 3.73 will result in realtime better gas mileage.

After the replacment of the rear main (thanks for making it such an easy task BTW!), I noticed that the rear bearing cap had a large knick/groove as if it had been dropped at one time.

The oil pressure on the jeep has always been up and down. At a cold start, I find it to be right int he middle of the gague. After it warms up, it drops down to 20psi and below. During acceleration, it goes up while you watch it, but never goes back to the middle part.

Another thing that has been cronic is it will overheat during trips to the trails. notably while going uphill, it will get right to below the red area on the gague. I have replaced the clutch fan and even added an electric fan to the outside of the radiator.

Suggestions now?
It sounds like it's time for some motor bearing, oil pump replacement work. (too large of bearing clearances looses oil pressure when warmer). Cooling is affected by tired motor, large tires, old or plugged radiator, seals around the radiator or hood to radiator missing.

One more question, on my ’06 TJ, last summer when I was on a wheeling trip to Colorado, at the top of a pass (Monarch Pass… paved highway), the AC cut out like it was only on low when it was on high. I also had this happen when I came off a trail two days later. I’m not sure if this was an altitude thing, engine too hot, etc.? It hasn’t happened again (although I live in the Midwest). Any ideas? Thanks!

Engineering for Jeep vehicles is done at the old American Motor building in downtown Detroit. Not a pretty site at all. But really engineering for Jeeps is
completed in Moab, Rubicon trail, and many many other off road areas.

Those are all prototype vehicles and don't have to pass crash regulations...
