The brake limited differential part of traction control can not be turned off - it is used to provide torque to a slipping wheel when needed. This may not be considered part of the ESP portion of the system, but may be noticed.

Hope that helps.
Would having ESP in full off possibly have any bad effects to the rest of the system with daily driving?

Dealer has no idea what to do, and I'm not sure if this is characteristic of the WK wiper system. In most of the other vehicles I have owned you cannot even hear the wipers at all as they smoothly and quietly swipe back and forth.

I have tried changing blades/arms but no difference. Is there any type of adjustments in the linkage I can look into? Would replacing the wiper motor help?
It's difficult to diagnose over the internet of course, but as with any mass produced product there is going to be a specification range that is considered acceptable when a part or system is designed. I've driven in WKs and XKs, some with different degrees of noise in the wiper system operation. Replacing one specific part may or may not change or improve the system. You can always try a different dealer to see if they come up with a different assessment....

The transmission shifts from D to 1st directly by holding the shifter to the right (without kicking several times), it is a useful feature. But would happen if the shifter got hold to the right by mistake at high speeds?

Silly question, but is there anyway to permanently disable the auto-dimming mirrors? I have to do it manually every time I drive at night since they dim the second the Jeep is turned on. Just like my WJ did, but that vehicle allowed me to shut them off completely.

Thanks for your time.

No, the rest of the vehicle is not adversly affected by having the ESP in Off. The brakes, engine, and other affected systems are capable of operating continously in ESP on, partial, and full off.

Why does the 5.7 hemi sometimes have up to a 2 second flat spot on acceleration. This can make pulling out into traffic a little too exciting for my taste....... It can happen from a stand still, a slow roll or on the highway doing 65. Does not happen all the time.

Is this type of thing possible on my '06 XK?
We're not sure right now what you can or can't enable since we don't have StarScan right here with us....

We'll have to get back to you after doing some research - after the thread closes, we go back and follow up on unanswered questions, so keep checking back!

Feature is working as designed. There is no way to permanently disable auto-dimming mirrors without voiding your warranty.

The pull & hold (to the left, not right) feature that you reference will provide the lowest gear possible without overreving the engine. You cannot damage the vehicle by using this feature. Pull and hold to the right will get you back to "D".

If you tap the shifter left it lowers the max gear (gear limiting function). Tap right raises the max gear until you get to "D". In the case of "tapping" to a lower gear, you can select 1 - no matter what speed. Still you will never get to 1 until you go slow enough to safely get a downshift to 1st. Once there, you will stay in 1st.

Hope this helps.

Some of this is just a normal consequence of electronic "fly by wire" throttles.

The delay from a stand still or a slow roll is partly an issue of tuning and striking a balance between a throttle that is "too responsive" and one that "isn't responsive enough". We'll include your concern in future calibration discussions.

As for the concern at highway speed, it is most likely a momentary delay as your MDS system transitions from V4 mode to V8 mode.
