I don't know all that much about libby's but I have a generic question about them.

I realise that the libby was designed primarily as a light/crossover type of SUV and not really designed for much offroading, But how much testing is done on the liberty (and other jeep lines) for offroad capability vs the wrangler?

I read the last live discussion with you guys and understand the wrangler gets fairly extensive testing.

Is the libby tested to the same standards offroad? or is it just expected to be primarily an on road vehicle? Thanks guys. Keep up the good work

Thanks Guys You have been a Huge help
As you may have noted, the 3.7L is the only available engine for the 2008 Liberty. Naturally we can't duscuss future plans. As far as fuel economy, EPA tests have not yet been finalized. Be aware that the EPA test standards have been changed and the new ratings may be affected by those changes.

My KJ has the 45RFE trans, is it stronger the the later models 42RLE? I had heard the 45RFE backs up the HEMI.

I have a2006, 12/05 build date CRD and it was not in the F37 recall. Does this mean I got the beefier TC from the factory?

What was the reason for continuing to use the 3.7L in the KK vs. the similar 4.0 V6 or another power plant?

How much will a tow pkg equipped KK be able to tow?

If yours was not included in the recall, then it has the new more robust TC.

Just to alleviate the engineers from this, since that's not really why they're here, I can answer any questions about warranty expiration dates, recall information, etc... Just PM me your questions and the last 8 digits of your VIN#.

The KJ is Trail Rated and has gone on many real world off road development / validation trips (Moab, Colorado, Paragon, Attica, Silver Lake Sand Dunes, Kentucky, etc.) in addition to our Proving Grounds events. We strive to maintain the Jeepness in our vehicles and will contine to do so.

A heavier verison of the 45RFE is indeed used behind the Hemi. The 42RLE has been proven durable behind the 3.7L and its reliability is documented by the Consumers Reports "Recommended Buy" rating for it.

The 3.7L is a proven engine for the Jeep Liberty customer. The ATX is rated for 5000 lbs and the MTX is rated at 3500 lbs.

In spy photos of 'test mules', there always seems to be a big red button somewhere on the dash or center console. What is this button for?

Since the Liberty has esp, traction control and other stuff, if one tire gets torn up wouldn't replacing just that tire possibly freak out those gizmos? Would you need to replace all of the tires?

It's for the new optional ejection seat that goes along with the new full-length Skyview canvas top.
