question on Tow ratings
Why is the Unlimited Wrangler towing capacity rated so low when compared to an equally equipped Liberty, 5000lbs to 3500 lbs. when hey have similar outputs in HP and torque, they share the same transmission, the 42RLE, the curbs weights are very close. The Wrangler has a longer wheelbase by 12”. The Wrangler also has a wider track width by 2”, and is a body on frame design while the Liberty has a uni-body construction. The Wrangler also has a stronger rear axle, the upgraded Dana 44.

What was the thought process behind going to a Rzeppa-style CV joint on the axle end of the rear driveshaft, instead of sticking with U-joints?

How do JK's get the reading for the speedo? At the transfercase like old(er) Jeeps (TJ) or at the tone rings in the rear axel like newer Jeeps (WJ)?
Also what is the wheel to wheel mounting surface of JK axels?

Hi,
thanks for answering our questions. One question that probably comes in mind to all new 2007 Jeep Wrangler owners is the sorry for the word "crappy" plastic interior that covers the doors, the airbag and the centre console between the 2 seats... whats up with that? what can be done by DC or my dealership...or.... and by the way thanks for the 4 door model !! I always wanted a Jeep but I had to have 4 doors for the space and all. Jeep rocks !!! Thanks, Frank from Canada !!

What was the reason to switch away from the more popular 5x4.5 bolt pattern to the 5x5 bolt pattern?

Hi guys! Welcome!
My question to you is.. Most aftermarket suspension manufacturers offer some sort of "long arm" coil suspension as their top-of-the-line suspension kit. Just wondering if Jeep ever thought about lengthening the link arms on something like the Rubicon straight from the factory? I mean, it came with a bunch of great offroad components only to be limited by short arms. Also, what actually dictates the length of the factory arm? Street handling? Safety? Ease of production? Thanks again for being here... Edit: man, in the time it took me to type this about 4-5 others asked questions already...
