We really don't have much leeway here. Tire Pressure Monitoring is part of a Federal standard and our vehicles must comply as built. Sorry!

The Specialty Equipment Manufacturers Association (SEMA) lobbies for this kind of cooperation between the Feds, Automakers, and the aftermarket - some times with better success than others.

On the MyGIG radio I noticed that there is no "Pause" or "Stop" control for the CD player or for the HD when playing music. Being that every CD player ever made since day one has these, uh, important buttons, I have to ask, what were the designers thinking? Or were they? The only way I have found to Pause a CD is to turn the MyGig radio off!!

Is there any way to get rid of the rattling from the 5 speed NV3550, when the clutch is out (up) in neutral? I have heard that it is normal, and that it is the clutch throwout bearing?

Also what is the cause of the shifter bump / slight grind sometimes felt if shifting slowly (or quickly) between first and second gear?

I'm switching to Royal Purple synthetic fluid in the trans in the spring, so hopefully that will help some.

2008 Sahara 4 door and LOVE it eccept for the lack of power on long hills at 40 and above. Why do the RPMs drop over 40 mph even when the foot feed is steady. You must stuff the accelorator or down shift to keep speed up. Oh automatic trans here
Thanks

Well let me tell you how nice ABS is on slick roads! It does a nice job keeping the rear end where it should be. Although now I kind of wish I had a Rubicon, having ABS was an option I wanted to have. I had to do a build to order to get it, as dealers just didn't have any with it. My TJ was also on hold for awhile as ABS parts were out of stock I was told.

Gear Rattle.. yep, it's normal and OK.. unfortunately, it is an inherant design feature. The good news is.. its a very durable trans...

As for gear clash while shifting gears.. don't shift too fast... give the syncros time to match up. Of course, the syncros could be worn..

Thanks for this session. I have an 08 4 door unlimited X. It has been great. In overdrive at about 1200 rpm I feel some vibration, almost like the base on the radio is too high. Any Ideas what might cause this?

Understand. But the NHTSA rule allows for the Automaker dealers to recalibrate when a new tire and/or wheel/tire combination is selected for the vehicle. Otherwise, once the new tires, requiring a different air pressure, are added the TPMS system becomes null. Which defeats the purpose of the system.

Is there a shortage in supply/building of 2008 rubis? I am seemingly waiting forever (already 9 weeks) without even getting a production date for my special ordererd vehicle.

Much of the 3.8L's power is made at higher revs - it takes power to keep steady speed on hills and the 3.8 needs to be kept up in the powerband.

On my 2006 Unlimited 6 spd 17,000 miles I've got a chirp sound when I give it the gas... I'll be driving along at say 30 mph, and if I tap the gas I get a quick chirp. The chirp doesn't continue, it only happens one time for each time I tap the gas. Only happens in gear. Sounds like rubber is making the noise, like something twisting from the torque. Only related to pushing the gas pedal, it isn't a continual noise like a u-joint might make.

Have you heard of this before?

Jeff

PS: and thanks for the link to the Dodge frame modifications, looks like it will be helpful for my project.
