Selec-Trac (full-time 4wd) in the JK fits with the Jeep image better than 4x2, and that is already offered. Would you guys like to see a full-time option for the Wranglers or do you feel the part-time 4x4 is option enough for the model?

Hey guys.
I've recently aquired a 1990 2.5L YJ. There's the remnants of what looks like a metallic pipe comming from the exhaust manifold and maybe going to the air box. Is this something I need to replace or can I just cap it off?

2008 Jeep Wrangler Sahara
Hello Gentlemen:
Regarding the hard top design flaw in the 2007 and 2008 Jeep Wrangler Sahara models---water is pooling on the dashboard, I would like to know: Are you aware of this problem? Is there a plan to fix this flaw? Thank you. |

I have read here at JF about getting "angry sparrows" and that it's typically caused by the center ball joint on the front drive shaft. On rough roads this winter I am starting to hear those chirping birds up front on my '06 TJ (with 12,000 miles), but not so much on smooth pavement. So if it is the center ball joint, would I begin to hear it more on a rough road then on smooth pavement?
Thanks! ![]() |

Guys,
I'm planning on stretching my LJ and building a retro-looking stepside pickup out of it. To stretch the frame, I've got a second LJ frame; but cutting the two frames in different places and joining the longer "halves", I will gain 24". The vehicle frame will be cut just before the frame turns up to go over the rear wheels; the second frame will be cut just before the frame rails bend in (about 24" ahead of the first cut). The Brute kit stretches the TJ frame 24" and apparently then don't have issues with excessive frame flex; this would stretch the LJ frame 24" (roughly the equivalent of stretching the TJ frame 34-36"). Do you have an opinion on the flex and strength of the frame that will result from the lengthening I've described? Do you think I should plan an additional crossmember to stiffen the longer frame? Some photos of the concept model for my conversion are shown below... Jeff ![]() |

The 2007 and 2008 Wranglers including the Unlimited have had a lot of problems with leaks in the soft tops, hardtops, door seals, header seals. Does Chrysler/Jeep recognize these problems and are they actively addressing them?

this tube is for emmissions and also for proper choke operation...the hot air tube is made of corregated aluminum and makes the thermac work properly in the air cleaner assy...when the vehicle is cold the flap door on the aircleaner intake is closed and draws the hotair past the exhaust manifold until the sensor reaches a predetermined tempature and actuates the vacuum to open the door in the air cleaner intake...this will help on fuel economy on cold starts

Obviously, as long as the JK is selling like hot cakes, there's not much of a business case for a new transmission. I was really just curious about what you guys as engineers thought about having a full-time option. |
