zj, year 97 front driveshaft different size?

does anyone know why 1997 has a different front drive shaft than every other year zj?. my 97 driveshaft was longer and i went to put another shaft in my truck and it was too short???

different transfer case, different engine, different tranny from whatever your doner ZJ was.

Early zjs had a long pinion dana 30 too.

The dimensions of the front output on a 242 are different from those of a 249 also.
'97 zj 5.2, some stuff, some other suff, and some things that even work sometimes.

there are atleast 3 different drive shaft lengths in ZJ's. Best bet is to measure yours and start measuring the ones from the donor vehicles
