Zj & Wj???

Very new to the forum, what does ZJ & WJ stand for? I've got a 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo, but I think I'm in the right forum.

Yea, I see that, but what do the ZJ, WJ, WK, and XK stand for?

I'm really glad I found this forum, it's been VERY helpful so far to some of my minor issues.

Thanks again!

They don't stand for anything. That's just what each revision was called. The 1993-1998 Grand cherokees are completely different from the 1999-2004 WJs, etc.

every chrysler vehicle gets a code name. the names also change if the body style changes.

I'm pretty sure that the "WJ" has something to do with broken blend doors!

Seriously,

ZJ is 93-98
WJ is 99-04
WK is 05-present

The letters help to define the body styles. They are not completely different. They do share some common components.
