zj v8 swap

i have 97 with the 4.0 i'm in love with it and want to rip the motor out and go v8 but i want to go with a 360 from a van id go with a stand alone system for fuel management etc its the drive train im worried about like the tranny bolt pattern when i did the motor swap when i got it 40 to a 40 i noticed the tranny has an offset plate my question is will a 360 from a van mid 90s bolt to the tranny with the flywheel and such let me know what you think

A V8 won't bolt up to the 4.0 trans. In either case the trans would **** itself the first launch.

Ideally you would pull a 46rh from a first gen V8 ZJ, that will give you a trans that can take the 360 and won't need a computer for control. A beefed up 44re might work, a jeep 46re would hold it but they're pretty rare as they only came in the niner.

A dodge tranny won't easily work as the starters are on the wrong side.

You can build a 44RE way stronger than a stock 46,but what ever you can find that is readily available. Go over to www.thespeedfreaks.net. There is a ton if info on how to make your ZJ fast.
