ZJ turn signal mirrors tell me what you think.
I was bored and it was nice out today so I picked these LED turn signal lights up at Advance Auto Parts for like 6 bucks to give me something to do. It took a little while to do it the correct way (you can cut some corners but I wanted it to look right). But im satisfied with the results. Here's what I did if your curious.

Used VHT Nite-Shades to tint the new lights.
Driver and passenger door panels off.
Bent mirror all the way back
Fed wire through where the electric wiring goes to the mirror (pita)
Ground wire to door handle bolt.
Tucked wire behind the mirror in the housing
Removed corner lamp assembly
Removed turn signal assembly
Fed positive all the way up through the fender (had to reach up behind the fender well to get it to the front)
Used a bent hanger to pull the wire out to where the turn signal is.
Tapped into the turn signal.
Put everything back together.

Just something fun to do if your bored.
Let me know what you think.

Can you show a pic from behind the truck with them on? Also, Can't tell from the pic, How thick are they? (as in how far do they stick out from the mirror).

- I think they look alright. Sounds like a nice clean install too.

Does it blink or is it constant?

Nice cancer stick :D

yeah ill get a pic ill post it in like an hour. plus its dark so itll show how bright they are. theyre about a 1/4 inch thick if anything thinner. the only visible wire is the one that comes right off of the light itself but only like 1/8 inch of it is seen. thanks for for the clean install comment. took a while to figure out how i was gonna hide the wires really well but i figured it out and the other side took maybe a half hour. so follow those directions and itll be about an hour. youll need some wire. about 18 inches for grond on each side and about 5-6 feet of positive to go through the fender/wheelwell on each side. total cost maybe 10 bucks total. youll need a t25 for the corner lens and turn signal assemblys and obviously a wire stripper.

those kinds of lights are illegal in most states unless so equipped from the factory.

i measured them and theyre exactly 1/4 inch. heres some pictures from behind theyre a little shakey and some of the thickness.

I like them. The install looks really clean. I'd consider doing this some day as well.

I wish every vehicle had them (and that people would use them to change lanes and not just blindly merge over). I'm also annoyed by semis with no or hard to see side signals that just merge over.

haha yeah i agree they should all have them.

I did a similar setup on mine.

It looks like a very nice install. Good work!

I dunno though, for me I think it'd drive me crazy to see that thing blinking.

Did you buy your Jeep at Carmax or can you just buy the sticker?

The time now is 01:52 AM.
