zj t-case swap question

ok so i have a 97 zj with a 5.2 and the 249 case it it
im doing a sawp to the 242
the donor is outta a 97 as well
do i need to switch over the input shafts since there the same years

what transmission do you have and what transmission did the donor mate up to. generally theres no way of telling if it will bolt right up without pulling your 249 and measuring the input shaft.
