Has anyone on the board done the parking light mod? It's driving me crazy that the turn signal light under the main beam doesn't light up at night. Just wondering where to get a socket from that would fit it, to wire it up.

Yeop. Did it to my '93 almost 10 years back. I always used XJ front sockets, on my '93 i used early '90's sockets, on my 5.9 i used gen 2 xj front sockets so it looks like they match. You also need gen1 zj front lower markers, i think the change over was 96 or 97 to the 2 prong socket vs the standard 3 prong socket.

My ZG front amber markers are 3 prongs.

I have a 97. I did notice that the 93-96 parking lights are three prongs. Those parking lights should bolt right into my 97 right? and will the 97-01 XJ front socket screw into these because they're three prongs?

Yep! I had a '95 marker & a '98 marker, and '98 cherokee front turn signal sockets. Those early ZJ markers bolt in '93-'98, and pretty much any xj front turn signal socket will work. I like the oem units vs after market, the aftermarkets are crap builds, more expensive, etc. The oem's are great quality, theres always a ton of wrecked xj cherokees in the junk yard & the sockets are cheaper.

What did you use for bulbs?

Cant remember off the top of my head the #, but whatever was stock for a '98 cherokee, but amber. I'd suggest replacing marker bulbs with new amber 194's

I'll do that so it doesn't look faded or off color with old vrs new bulbs. Thanks for letting me pick your brain. They should have lit that up from the factory.

You know when you turn the parking lights on and the directional lights under the main beam don't light up with the side markers?

This mod will make it a marker light and also a turn signal. It looks like it would have come from the factory when it's done.

It drives me nuts that they don't light up. To me they look burnt out.
