ZJ idling rough

As the title states my jeep is idling rough when at a red light, etc, I'm assuming its nothing serious since my jeep drives fine. I was thinking maybe it was the throttle body needing to be cleaned. Any other info would be appreciated.

It could also be a fuel delivery system that's faulty.

Clean the throttle body and the IAC. It's a little spindle on the back of the throttle body held in by two torx bolts. Take it out and clean it, but don't push it in/out while you are cleaning it.

Report back.

Just need to go out and get throttle body cleaner now, and I'll check the IAC while I'm at it. Will report back when its done

This. It's a T25 torx

After cleaning the throttle body and IAC, go ahead and pop the distr. cap open too. Clean and inspect it. Lift the plate inside ( cam sensor) and clean under it. Then pour a 1/3 can of Seafoam in your gas tank.

Check your vacuum lines..............

I do it by spraying carb cleaner around every hose and fitting. You'll hear the change pretty quick when you hit the leak.

Thanks for the replies guys. I was doing some research on here and found out that there are no MAF sensors on Jeeps(laugh at me if you want)

I got a picture of my throttle body, and is the IAC the part to side with a power connector going to it?

The IAC is North in your picture. The sensor North East is the TPS. (Throttle Position Sensor)

:D

my 5.2 was idling rough so i took the throttle body off, took off all the sensors, and cleaned it really well. also cleaned the IAC. runs much better and smoother
