I rebuilt my 89XJ axle for my 98 ZJ. I made my own disco block off plate out of some 1/8" steal. As for the seal, I just ordered one from Iron Rock, I also did new G2 gears and master install kit with new pinion and carrier bearings. I then used my ZJ knuckles, brakes, and shafts.

hi, i have a question: what really are the differences between a dana30 and a 30HP?
i'm asking because i tryed to look for this on the web but i found a lot of different answers:
-a guy was saying that the only difference was that in the HP the front drive shaft works with a better angle (so there are less vibes);
-someone was saying that the 30HP has more ground clearence;
-another one was talking about Cs.

so i'm pretty confused

someone more skilled can help me?

because i'd like to do this swap, but i'm trying to understand if this worth the job...

The pinion is about 20% stronger, as are the reverse cut gears in a front axle application. The biggest win for me is that the driveshaft is almost 4" higher. A big benefit for offroad clearance. If you have a good working low pinion and don't plan on gears, it should be fine. I was doing the gears and already had the HP axle so it was a no brainer.

Thats kinda how I got mine. It was doing nothing in the back yard so I got on that. I havent heard about the C's being different. Hp's are stronger, better clearance, less DS angle. It was worth it for me

understood, thanks and is it true that XJ 30HP is a design with reverse rotation, the ZJ 30LP is a design with the hypoid gears rotating in the normal direction, so the hp is stronger? is this that spydermonky were you saying?
