Could you put a heated unit into a cloth seat? Or is it pointless?

So I have Power Seats in a donor vehicle, a 1995 ZJ, and I want to put them in a Non-Powered 1994 ZJ. There is a plug with 2 wires under each seat in the 94. They are both cloth seats and no heated or memory is involved, is this a plug and play?

could be if its directly under the seat and not off to one side. may need to put a fuse in.

I'm trying to wire in a passenger power leather seat into my 96...the seat has a red (power) and black (ground)..obviously I can splice into the current ground wire under the seat but is there a "hot" 12v wire in my stock wiring harness I could splice into or do I need to run a wire all the way to the fuse box??

You can pull a plug out of a junker, release the pin for supply, install it in your connector, and solder, insulate ect. You will have a better situation than a hack and tap to another circuit.

Yeah, I would get as much of the power harness from the donor as I could. It can't go that far, the fuse panel is right there.

Do the heating elements bun out? 97 limited with factory heated memory seats. I have power to the blue with black tracer wire to the connector under the seat when the switch is on but no heat in either seat

They can burn out, but that's not usually the failure. It's often a broken wire inside the seat.

Would the memory function work on the upgraded cloth Laredo seats?

If you have the memory module under the drivers seat, the1-2 button in the door panel, and all related wiring installed yes it would. You might have to tap onto the ccd bus but I can't remember on that one. If going that far I would install the memory mirrors as well.
