I'm thinking about stealing my buddys idea with his tj and replace the center console with an old army 5o cal ammo can

And You could get that rubberized dimond plate for the lid/arm rest.

Wow that XJ was impressive!!! So much time and effort put into it, incredible! If anyone finds aftermarket consoles online, post them please.

Yeah I liked the way he did it. I think what I'm going to do is make one out of wood,because it is cheaper, do a Vic gauge pod, a small cb just behind the shifter facing up then a switch panel after that. Ill have it all vinyl wrapped before it goes in. And I might do a ammo can storage part/armrest.

I found that console on eBay. It's a universal fit console made by Lund industries. It's like what is in police cars. I made the mount out of the ebrake bracket with various flat and square tube to get it above everything that is under it

Bust out the fiberglass and resin buddy. Ive never heard of anything that was close to a direct fit, itd be a fun project.
