My main purpose in building a bumper was to get a front receiver so I crudely yes built one out of 3/8 diamond plate with square tube linking the mount points. First time I really pulled with it, it ripped the front holes out of the frame. I then redrilled the holes to 1/2 and welded 10 in bolts down the frame rails, I pulled it out of a river with my tractor using it now and we had to have someone on the throttle to keep it from rolling as we has to pull at a 45 degree angle. Just a mounting thought, as if your building one spend some time and make it look good.
