I'm running a similar setup as Hunter. Got no complaints.

Note to thread poster. If the guy telling you to cut a coil isn't running cut coils on his vehicle, don't do it.

i wasnt telling him he should do it, just saying theres nothign wrong with doing it. i dunno why u would want to cut them anyways.
can u even cut the GC coils? cause i thought that the top and bottom coils were smaller than the middle coils, i may be wrong though i havent looked at mine for a bit lol

Didn't mess with it last night. To busy chasing down bolts after work. I'll see if I can get some work done tonight after I get home. I Want to try and make this work. I am just curious as to what makes cutting coils so dangerous. All i am thinking of doing is cutting off of the bottom maybe one coil. I know that my change the spring rate but I figure that may give a little more flex. I am not going to weld or stack coils like I've seen some do

hmmm, cutting coils. you should try hondaforums for this one. lol.... i say leave them. are you running stock control arms? 6in is fine on short arms but all 8 or at least 6 of them need to be adjustable. or if your going for the cheap put your front coils in the rear and put these up front http://www.ironrockoffroad.com/Merch..._Code=IR-Z3FSP

the thought about cutting coils is the heat to cut them (as long as you use a cutoff wheel you will be fine)

and that most new cars springs are progressive, if you cut coils, you ruin them.

On an F150, I doubt they are progressive. You can tell they are progresive if the coils get closer together at the ends.

Hrm...So F-150 springs are the same size but stiffer? I wouldnt care to do anything like jeep speed....but a little jumping is allways fun.

Yeah, jumping a Grand with a dana 30 up front is NOT VERY SMART. You'll break the axle or worse.

BTW, nice thread hi-jack. If you aren't contributing to the 5.5 inch thread, go elsewhere.

This thread is good info. Thanks guys. Sorry if this is a little hi-jack, pm me your post if needed. I just did front axles and new shocks up front to cure clunks over bumps. On the test ride there was still a little clunk. So come to find out front upper and lower CAs are toast. I have to redo them. Rears are cool, but might as well do it all at once.

So if I was shooting for 3.5" or less, staying with short or stock length is fine? What is the generally popular adjustable brand? I've been eying the IRO 3.5, is there a good combo people are running with that?

Thanks for the help.

turbo jb,

you need to stick to reading what 99% of the lifted Grand guys have used. You've PMed me about coils. Did you ever PM skyjacktZJ?

This is not a F150 coil or cutting coil thread. Stop hi-jacking.
