Moab Rim

Having spent some time of my life in Utah, visiting family, I'll say it's my experience that if you can crawl in Moab, you can crawl about anywhere. Half those H2s were on street tires.

Not bad for overglorified Tahoes. There's a stigma about H2s, which sucks, because as capable as it really is, it's used almost solely as a mall crawler, by rich preppy people, who don't know what a driveshaft is.

And that's what I'm getting at with the JKU. It's got the same capabilities as the 2-door, but it's targeted at mom. Jeep wants it to be a drop-top Grand Cherokee, so mom can enjoy the convertible thing, while still being soccer mom.

And of course it has manual windows and locks. The doors come off. It's still a Wrangler. And of course the Grand Cherokee is plush. It's outright the main-line SUV, and it's designed and straight up the mom Jeep, with just enough dad in it to make it useful. The Wrangler isn't supposed to be the dad Jeep with just enough mom. It's just the dad Jeep. It's the Jeep dad drives because he wants to be that guy. That cool guy he never got to be, with the wind in his hair and the trail under his wheels.

You know you drive a ZJ when you feel compelled to rant about newer Jeeps not being as cool.

You know the old guys that grew up with CJs were saying the same thing about yjs zjs and xjs. We were having the same discussion about music talking about how its not as good as it was back in the day. I stopped the conversation and said "every single one of our parents told us the same thing when we bought our first blink-182 album". Times are a-changing. However, comma, I daily drive a WK (granted a 2wd 3.6 v6 WK) and it feels so cheaply made compared to my ZJ. It's pretty obvious auto-industries are following a trend of degredation in favor of mass production. It's a true shame.

The difference being I don't like Blink-182, and I don't think it was a bad idea to use square headlights. :P

Thankfully that never happend to me, the only dmg i took was a scuffed bumper cover, small crack on it, and the metal bumper behind it was bent back a little bit and my fog light was bent a tad.. Took me $30 some touch up paint, some adhesive for the crack, and a towstrap tied to a tree to pull the metal bumper back out to fix it..

His car... was almost totalled.

Now that I have my degree, my first purchase when I get a "real" job is going to be a JKU Rubicon. I don't care if I only made a small down payment and didn't even get the first bill yet. It's going to be wheeled.

I wouldn't be too worried about the bank. I'd be more worried about State Farm... My insurance is super cheap right now being 25 and married. Full coverage on my Jeep and Caprice runs me under $100 a month for decent coverage with a $250 deductible. I wouldn't want to mess that up too badly...

For truth. You roll it rock climbing. State farm asks what happened. "uhh... deer?" "all that damage... on the roof?" "it was a herd"

What is decent coverage .... Mine is $140 a month, full coverage on both Jeeps, and the party involved.. on top of $50,000 in medical money.. I have USAA..
