Yea I'm a transplant. Grew up in Ruidoso NM. Where the elevation varies from 7k (horse racing track) to 12k! (ski area). Nothing but mountains and canyons! Miss the beauty but not the rust.

OT: when you'll gladly give up the snow to help save your rig some.

I am a "rarely"lol. Ya'll can keep all that white stuff and the rust that goes with it! IF I could get past my common sense I'd jump on a new jeep or at least a newer one in a second. But I know how to work on a zj{ well, mostly}. Parts are reasonable but I have to say that sensor cost, some electrics ect. are wayyyyy cheaper on the newer models. Move to newer platform and there are newer cost involved in that. The interiors to me are somewhat bland and I think I would get tired of it after the new wore off. When I start to feel the "new" bug I look at mine and all the sweat equity in it and push that thought out of my mind,at least for now.

Proud to be FLOGROWN, born and raised on the beaches and in the hoods of sunny Palm Beach Florida! But I must say I greatly prefer southern Alabama now though since I have been living here.

We get lots of snow in pg but they gravel the roads here and not use salt. My 2008 caliber has no rust and my jeep has very little so it depends on the place you live in really. And how much you wash your vehicle.

Man theres been so much debating on here that past page! ****! Haha okay look, sure a wk2 trailhawk is better offroad stock. But if you take half the money you would spend on a wk2 and instead spend it making a zj more offroad capable, then guess who's gonna win?

As for the racing, i think it goes like this.

Sti's/Subies/Stangs>New Cars>Zj>contempary honda economy cars of the zj>walking

I know for a fact that my old zj will beat my friends stock 2000 integra, because we legitimately did a light to light race, on several occasions. That being said, my zj isnt fast, his integra was just slower.
