...when the car you gave to your dad at 100Kmiles is offered back to you at 160Kmiles because the control arm brackets rotted off the front axle and you say "Sure, I'll take it back and fix it."

Pro-tip: O'Reilly is ALWAYS hiring. We're expanding like crazy and need more manpower. If it's any help, $8 an hour plus commission (really not that much, but it's a thought) is attractive in a market that likes to pay the bare minimum. Not to mention the great discount.

If you know the manager at your local store well at all, I'd say go for it. If it doesn't pan out, you've got you Jack in the Crack job to fall back on, but if it does, hey talk about success huh?

When you're watching "the incredible doctor Pol" and you can hear the VIC beeping in his grand cherokee.

It shouldn't mess with the balance. Just make sure your cut is reasonable straight. I can never cut or mount anything straight. I don't know why, it's just something I've never been good at. I remember being a little kid and having my mom put my stickers on the Lego sets I built. Anyway, that being said, I didn't really cut mine that straight and I don't get any vibes. I guess the worst case is if you cut it and throw off the balance, take it to get it balanced. It's cheaper than having it shortened so you're still coming out ahead.

Don't you have to be 18 to work at O'Reilly? Around here you do anyway

I think i'm just gonna have the driveshaft shortened at a shop, as i'm pretty sure if i cut the tip of the slip yoke, the driveshaft will then back into the back of the transfer case. I found a guy who can shorten it for $50, but im gonna still look around some to see if i can find a better price. Thanks for the thought though man!

I trimmed my input shaft on the t-case 11/16 when I did the swap (between it and tranny). I had access to a wet saw though, ended up crooked as hell as I was trying not to damage the gears. no vibes.

This is true. O'Reilly almost always promotes from within. I'm not all sure yet, but it's an open possibility for me when I graduate, to move up to a salaried position in an office somewhere in O'Reilly. I'm a business student and what have you. I'm not sure it's what I'll do, but it's an option.

They really like you to be 21, in fact, for insurance purposes because they like to have their staff all be old enough to drive their delivery trucks under insurance. You probably do have to be 18 though. I keep forgetting we have sub-18-year-olds on this site.

I made decent money when I worked at Oreilly's as a night manager. Commission is worth it when you sell 70k in parts a month lol. If you get the job there, I hope you have a better manager than I did...

I'm implying that the store manager I was under wouldn't own up to a mistake he made and cost me my job, among other things...
