When you start the Jeep, OD is on. Push it and its off. Go about 50mph and push the button. You'll know it's off when it downshifts to 3rd.

When you own both of the most talked about vehicles in this thread.... A zj and a 4runner LOL

For what it's worth my runner is slow as all hell. 22re, 33" stt's and 4.11 gearing. She's no speed demon. Missing the jeeps power big time on the highway

Right. It's an "off" button. Not an "on" button

Oh you guys are talking V8s? Idk but my I6 definitely has some go, even with 165k. I've never matched up against any 'Yotas but Honda headlights look good in my rear view!

I know I have a 4.slow but at least its not a 4-sillynder!

Out doing Jeep things..

You know you drive a ZJ when...

You never fully get to the end of your to do list (maintenance and replacing/fixing random stuff) before you have to add 1-3 more items to the list.

I just have an empty list of things I don't have to do. If it isn't on the list I have to do it.

The OD button is called the Overdrive Defeat switch. It tells the PCM not to engage the overdrive collar when cruising above 35mph in 3rd. It does still allow the lockup clutch to engage, however.

You know you drive a ZJ when you can't get to working on it because for some reason everything else is getting in the way. This is a trend I've noticed with ZJ guys I know.

Same here. I'm gathering parts for a front end rebuild but seems like every time I say I'm working on the Jeep today, some friends car breaks down that I've got to fix

yup.

you know you drive a ZJ when all your friends assume that because you work on your ZJ, it automatically makes you an expert on all other makes and models
