Mine has never done anything, seatbelt buckled or not. Just a flash on startup then it goes away. I thought it was normal

Vehicles didn't care about that till around 2007 I think. Most new vehicles yell at you all day until that seatbelt is buckled...

my grandpa had me go to a junkyard and cut the male end off a seatbelt for him. he plugs it in the buckle so it thinks his seatbelt is on

It also helps that, for safety regs, Grand Cherokees are considered trucks, and so they only have to flash the light a couple times, beep a couple times, and carry on. Later on, newer regs would apply to cars and trucks all the same, and make trick registration of SUVs as trucks a thing of the past. (Except for CAFE fuel consumption stuff)

when you push down hard on the skinny pedal and your jeep makes a loud noise but it's 50/50 on if it will be quickish or sluggish
