This in a 2800lb car with 28/10.5 slicks and 4.56 with a fully set up suspention, you do the math. Found a buyer and decided I wanted to build a 2500hp Nelson lsx twin turbo rail car. Then life changed so.

Twin 88's!? Mother of god! I wish my mid10 sec firebird had one 88. Haha. Maybe it'd crack a single digit pass.

Won't be done. Car is cruising the street right now with 435 Hp no spray. Sold the car as a street car. Sold the engine in pieces. Not building the rail as I had a life changing experience and spend my time crawling trails with friends instead of getting a slip.

Point of all of this is if you want a cheap trail rig buy a zj, if you want a cheap yet very nice street and trail rig, by a niner. I might add cameleer is the king in this category. Otherwise, especially if there is a unlimited budget like some of you have brought up, there are way way better platforms to start with. Like say a Hemi wk, or srt8, at least it would be worth something when it's done. Niners are awesome, most likely will be for a long time. But they are a unibody with an old *** engine with old *** technology, weak steering, weak axles fnr, crappy off-road case, and not the greatest transmission. All vehicles have problems but if I had a unlimited budget a 14 year old vehicle would be the last place I started.

Getting it out of the hole is the hard part with that kind of power. What's it running out of? Sounds like a fuel issue. Mine had 2 in-tank, with a booster for the spray. I would have needed more for the race engine. This is why I boned it out. Had all the suspension but needed a $3000 trans, a $2000 rear, $3000 cage, $1000 fuel system, and a big *** diet. All to drop 2 seconds. That's why I figured $5000 for a used chromoly roller, about $30,000 for a Nelson engine, I'd have a little more in it but could lift at the 1/8 and easily run a 9 once I sorted out getting that monster out of the hole.
