Luckily, I haven't been in a bad accident in the Jeep. My last truck though, '97 ram, was a different story. In the two years I had it, I was rear ended twice. Once by an older man in a grand caravan that was leaned over to pick up his handicapped tag and once by a girl doing her makeup in a new civic. Both times I pulled out of the street with a grill stuck on my hitch
maybe if someone convinces them that having the extra chunk of rubber between the gas tank and the point of impact will be safer, we will all get factory tire carriers
I'm gonna ask them if there's any way I can get a gas tank skid out of it. Probably not, but it's worth a try. If they included the WJs, I'd get a hitch for my mom's to up the resale value a little, but oh well.
Then what's the point of the recall? Lol. And motor trend also said it included wj's...odd. Guess all these little details will be worked out in the coming days. I don't really care as I know my jeep is perfectly safe

most of the people who were commenting on Mopars page about the recall ***** about how "terrible jeep is for trying to hide this" and how "terrible thier service is" who buys a jeep to get it serviced? do the work yourself, and enjoy free parts.
Ignorant people are why chrysler can't win no matter what they do with the recall. They ignore it and they're murderers. They fix some and they are trying to hide it. Lose lose despite nothing wrong any of the vehicles in question.
Think it's because I'm traveling into uncharted territory for me. Give me a ratchet and I'll work on anything in the engine. as far as suspension and axles idk much about. You know you own a zj when it's made you learn so much lol.
When you can pick up a platinum 97 Limited 5.2 fully loaded for $800 because the guy driving it took it to a shop and got a ridiculous quote for new brakes. A huge thanks goes out to whomever involved. I'm overwhelmed with enjoyment of my new zj.
The specification is still 75W-140 API GL5 synthetic. I can't remember the quantity, except that if you have the trac-lok diff, you need to also add 1.1 [unit of measure] of Mopar friction additive. It's a small amount, probably oz.
When you take the girlfriend to the movies and the alarm freaks out for no reason and floods the zj so it won't start for 5 mins after you reset the alarm. Making the Girlfriend kinda scared to take the jeep places because its a. jealous of her attention or b. testing her commitment to myself (which means my jeep loves me) or c. Making me pay for picking on the Girlfriend just shortly before ignition fail which means(my jeep loves my Girlfriend and is protective of her. She(the jeep) made me look pretty good since I showed off my quick trouble shooting abilities and saved the day. Simple Zj thing to me...apparently an attractive quality to the Girlfriend.
When you open the hatch and all is good. Then 2 seconds later you get beaned in the head!
