Will an XJ (cherokee) trailer hitch fit on a ZJ? theres a bunch of XJs with hitches in the JY near me, all the ZJs in the yard dont have hitches.

You could unbolt one and try to bolt it on to a ZJ

Sound advice, but consider that those bolts can be a ROYAL PITA to get out.

EDIT: looked at your location, probably not as sucky as up here to accomplish.

youd be suprised, I spent 3 hours ON EACH SIDE when i pulled my tow hook brackets! i think from now on, im using a regular backpack for my tools instead of a tool box because then i have room to smuggle in a small propane torch

You're right - rust is rarely an issue here. Our problems usually centre around perished rubber components and over heating engines/transmissions.

Here's one for a XJ for sale on eBay, shows that it will not fit a ZJ, I'm guessing that ZJ's are wider.

It won't fit. I already tried it. The ZJ rails are wider and the bolt holes are spaced a little different.
