Xenon (HID) conversion on WK (06 model)

Hi to all!!!!

I tried today to fit HIDs to my father's GC!!!

They turned on for the first time, but after that nothing!! If I pulled out the plug and then in and try it I got the same.. They turn on the first time and then nothing!!

Do I have to "declare" to the computer I have xenon?

Anthony from Greece!!!

You may want to post this in the "All Show" forum on StreetJeeps.net. There's a bunch of WK owners that have their Jeeps hooked up over there.

ok first things first, what type of ballasts and capsules did you get. I'm hoping philips for bulbs, as for ballasts, philips, hella, etc etc. some ballasts, generally higher quality ones have there own protection circuity, if you try to turn them off and on to many times they will "lock" the ballast, in which case you have to open them up and turn a screw.

when you say "turned on" were they in the housing, with both installed.

My guess is that you blew the headlight fuse, try turning on your highbeams or other forward facing lights, if they don't work, its a headlight fuse. This brings me to my next question, did you put HID's in, or just the rice light (blue tinted bulbs) the rice lights will almost always use a higher wattage and blow fuses the first time around, if your wiring real hids (meaning you have ballasts etc) and if is the fuse, up the fuse by 10 amps, this should fix the problem although hid's ignite at 55w and burn in to 35w after 10 seconds or so.
