^^^^^^ POST A PIC @ THE TCASE & DS^^^^^^^^^

You can bolt the stock turdy5 ds in but it will be tight. I drove for 24 hrs with the stock one, it had less then an 1/8" of room between the tcase seal end of the slip yoke. Need 1-1.5" or so.

Im no longer on that setup. I never had a single issue using the stock d35 shaft.

Just do the swap and measure. A shop won't charge much to make it the correct length and they will balance it too. Maybe 60 bucks give or take.

The pinion is one inch longer than the 35.
It depends on the length of the transmission and how much lift you have

Then you will need to have you're. Driveshaft shortened because the 46rh is the longest tranny if I remember correctly=shortest rear driveshaft.

Going from a 35 to a 35 and all this info helps alot. Being really green on this stuff I have debated on doing this myself. Still on the fence but none of the stuff is rusted so maybe it will come loose easy.

ok not trying to revive a dead thread, but easy access is to put this in my list.

JY has a d44 with 3.73's (matching what I have now) and am considering picking it up.

And if I'm reading this correct, with the 46RE tranny, at slightly over 3" of lift, I wouldn't (more than likely) need to get my rear drive shaft shortened...?

BTW one i'm looking at is a D44 with the hex cover.
