[QUOTE=blackwhiteriot;7371028]i would assume a tj bezel would be the best.[/QUOTE
Obviously a TJ one, but the OP in this thread was talking about a ZJ, and refered to '97-2000 tj bezels. I was wondering if there is any difference between years that would fit differently

Side Note: I just called my local dealership for a friend and they are out of them and they are on back-order. He checked other dealers in the general area and they were out too. He said becuase of Chrysler's current situation they do not expect to get any back-ordered items shipped to them any time soon.

TJ bezel on my WJ
I found a TJ bezel at a jeep junkyard, and decided to give it a try on my WJ. Sorry, no pics of the install, just the final product.
I removed the fuel door, and there are two stoppers on the right and the two pieces for the bolts on the left. I bent these inward using a urethane hammer, so that the bezel would fit into the filler area. The angle of the gascap compared to the TJ's was way off and I could not get it to line up, so i ended up cutting the back off the bezel, like the white ZJ on the first page of this thread, and painting inside with black paint. The four outer holes actually lined up inside where the fuel door covered, so I didnt have to drill through the actual outside of my WJ. I couldnt use the original screws, they were too short, so new screws, attatched the little cord to the bezel, and I was done. http://www.flickr.com/photos/magnutswj/3652505164/ http://www.flickr.com/photos/magnutswj/3651708317/ http://www.flickr.com/photos/magnutswj/3652506300/ I love the look, and have already got a couple comliments on it!

on the first page follow vettedrivers write up that how i did mine. it is very easy to do once you get things apart. i would do a full write up with pics if i had not already done this.
i first step remove your spare tire from inside of your rear gargo area of your jeep. next remove all screws from the interior panel there are a bunch. once you think you got them all start slowly popping off the panel and when you are having trouble you most likely missed a screw so take it out and continue to remove the panel until it is completely dissconected. next step take a 10mm socket wrench and undo the two bolts holding the gas door on being careful not to drop them down the panel. remove the rubber button things from inside the gas tank door and the gas tank cap wire that holds it to the door if you have one. take your tj gas bezel and place it over the gas tube filler neck and see where you have to trim the bezel to make it fit nicely. once that is done place the bezel over the filler neck and make marks where you are going to need to drill to install the bezel to your jeep. drill the holes making sure to use a small enough drill bit so you can screw in the screws and they stay in the holes. place bezel back on jeep aligned to your just drilled screw holes and screw in the screws now go install your interior panel back in to the jeep last and most important step once done take a step back from your new gas bezel mod and admire your work
