go with a 15x7 or 16x7, 5x5 bolt pattern and 4' of backspacing. I went with 8" wide and I wish I did 7". I mounted the tires (31x10.5x15) myself and they were a PAIN to get the bottom bead seated because the rim was so wide.
i run that same lift and the only way i can fit a 31" tire is with tock rims, so i run stock size tires with a Atx Preditor rim set with lots of offset on my 2000 Wj
thats why were here, ahah. a wj will fit a 15" rim ONLY if the rim is steel and you have 4" of backspacing or less. an alloy rim will not fit. there are plenty of people on here that run this setup. i wish i was one of them :brickwall:
ok, let me make life easy for you, do you want a 15 or 16 or 17 inch wheel? more than likely if you want a soft eight its gonna have 4" of backspacing. now do you want a 7" or 8" wide rim? i like 8" myself, but to each his own. the worst thing you will have to do, is if you go 15s and you have to grind down the caliper a little bit (i didnt have to at all)
I am getting the IRO 3" lift and thinking about running rockcrawler 15*8 steel rims. 3.75 backspacing.
Any thoughts on that combo and what is the best tire to run? Do I need anything else (JKS TieRod for instance), to make sure everthing is fine in the steering...
To help you make your mind up, compare tire prices for 15, 16 and 17. You can save big with 15's. Also if you plan on wheeling and airing down tires stay on the 15's better. If you dont mind polishing your rims after a good day of wheeling, mudding and rock rash go with polished. I sold my polished rims and went to steelies. A hammer and black paint and they are as good a new.

They were for me. Got my 15" steelies for 35 bucks each shipped. Tires are cheaper on 15s. Like below. 60 bucks each tire for same size.
BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A KO from tirerack.com
Size: 265/70R16 (30.6x10.4R16) Price: $197.00 (each)
Size: 31X10.5R15 Price: $135.00 (each)
I have only seen two post or so by people who say the steelies hit the caliper and they fixed it with very minor grinding. I have at least 1/4 to 3/8 clearance on mine. But I have D30/35 so if you have a 44a in the back it may be closer.
His stock aluminum rims are thicker than steelies. I had nice polished rims on mine until one day i got stuck in mud and spun them. Then they were scratched brushed aluminum looking. Couldnt get them to buff out. Got rid of those and got the steelies. A hammer to fix rock dings and black spray paint if the paint gets bad and they look like new.
the clincher is theres almost no space between my front calipers and the inner part of my stock rims so id rather be safe then sorry and go with the 16
plus i just like 16s better and should fit my tires better
The stock aluminum rims are thicker than steelies. Find someone with steelies and try them. When I did mine I ordered one and tried it on all 4 hubs. After I say it fit, I ordered the rest.

those are tiny, just an fyi, shorter by around 2 inches, plus those things will balance like crap AND ride like junk, they are an OFFROAD tire haha, you get what you pay for :/
I have a 3'' lift, 16x7 soft 8's, with 4'' back space, and 245/75/16's. Tire sizes vary so be sure to check manurfacturer specs. 245/75/16 are normaly 30.4'' wich would be good for a BB. But mine are more like 30.9''... basically 31's. I had to trim abit off the front bumper cover.
Here's mine:
