go with a 15x7 or 16x7, 5x5 bolt pattern and 4' of backspacing. I went with 8" wide and I wish I did 7". I mounted the tires (31x10.5x15) myself and they were a PAIN to get the bottom bead seated because the rim was so wide.

i run that same lift and the only way i can fit a 31" tire is with tock rims, so i run stock size tires with a Atx Preditor rim set with lots of offset on my 2000 Wj

thats why were here, ahah. a wj will fit a 15" rim ONLY if the rim is steel and you have 4" of backspacing or less. an alloy rim will not fit. there are plenty of people on here that run this setup. i wish i was one of them :

You'll probably only need minor trimming on the front bumper.

Sorry man, gonna have to call you out on this one. i have 15" alloy wheels on my 2001 wj, 15's just barely fit over the calipers, and tape weights usually have to be used due to clearance issues (i work for les schwab here in seattle) heres a picture for reference.

ok, let me make life easy for you, do you want a 15 or 16 or 17 inch wheel? more than likely if you want a soft eight its gonna have 4" of backspacing. now do you want a 7" or 8" wide rim? i like 8" myself, but to each his own. the worst thing you will have to do, is if you go 15s and you have to grind down the caliper a little bit (i didnt have to at all)

Same Boat

Yea... I'm a little in the same boat.

I am getting the IRO 3" lift and thinking about running rockcrawler 15*8 steel rims. 3.75 backspacing.

Any thoughts on that combo and what is the best tire to run? Do I need anything else (JKS TieRod for instance), to make sure everthing is fine in the steering...

Cheers
Chumby.
