***WJ Update***

Well the rear Carrier was shot, and I decided to have them do the Front as well. Also Regearing to 4:56. I wish I had the money to drop D44 in there like some other people on here. But the best I could do is this. Also got a screeming deal on having this done.

what size tires would you be able to run with the d35 regeared to 4:56...i heard it was a waste to do anything with the d35? i wanted to do this eventually because swapping out the rear is just not an option for me...my pockets arent big enough..

You never know, for instance I have a D44a with varilock just sitting in my garage that just needs wheel bearings, after checking everyting it turns out the varilock was ok after all. If someone were to come get it, I could be persueded to give it up for around $200. Never say never on an upgrade, you might just find a great deal sitting in someones garage, but you have to look for it.

My Local 4X4 Shop that does most of my work and I trust, says it will be a huge improvement off and On the road, with the larger tires. Also they dont have anything bad to say about the 35, even though it is not a very friendly axle hear. I am taking the chance, could not pass up the price.

You're only running 31s, it should be fine. Do you have it locked. I think it really depends on the driver, like not being throttle happy.

Is it a daily driver? If so, why all the way to 4.56?

Seems like for just 31s that would be a little over-geared if you ever hit the interstate...

Thats not really a screaming deal =P

One of the guys in my club runs 33's locked with 4.56's in his d35 and d30 on his dub, runs it hard and has only broken shafts on the 30.

For around here, it is a screaming price. I live very near Pebble Beach, one of the highest priced areas in the country.

with 33's and 4.56 my RPM's are way high on the highway. No way I would run 31's with 4.56's (well I did for a week and it was way too high RPM's on the highway - gas milage went way down).
