WJ left me a present in my diffs

So I decided to change my diff fluid this weekend along with trans filter and fluid change. Trans went all find and dandy, nothing new. But my diffs however do not like me, and this whole time i kept wishing it was just a wheel bearing griding in the back. I dont see any real damage done....so what gives with all the metal shavings?

Front Diff:

Sludge in front diff:

Rear Diff:

So......Any thoughts and concerns...? UGH....!

Did you feel the gears to see if you can find where the shavings are coming from? It is either the gears or the bearings.

It's vari-lok, it has a lot of moving parts and the most important- clutches. When operating they wear out. Depending on how long you haven't change the fluid and how you use this rig, I'd say that it's either a little excessive or even can be normal.

On the other hand, these shavings could have destroyed the bearings.

That's a **** ton... but I wouldn't worry too much as long as there are no big pieces/chunks.

Damn, that's way too much metal. Do you normally service your diffs?

I really don't see anything too bad...Shavings are great but they are a normal occurance. Now chunks would be bad. What are you symptoms?

The hairiness is what scares me

Looks fine to me, just like they haven't been changed in a while. Mine wasnt quite as bad with the first change at 40k and being open diff.

Im thinking that the diff fluid has never been changed in her before i came along. I just bought her this past january so I have no idea what has been done to her at all. Which im thinking the previous owner was a gas and go kinda person.
Symptoms include chattering when making a left turn but no chatter during a right turn.

By the way, im a girl and dont think my nails are too long and im not sure where the "hair" comment came from....
So anywho...

that doesn't look too excessive to me, I just replaced the bearings and seals in mine. I didn't have quite that much in there, but I've only owned it a couple months. and I don't think it had ever been serviced (112,000).
