Spring compressors aren't needed at only 4". Remove the end links, loosen the control arm botls (all 8) and let the axle droop as far as it will go.

Never use a hi-lift for garage work. They are so un-stable it's not funny.

When I built a toyota last winter we did the lift with high-lift jacks. While I was under it it almost fell over, and while my buddy was under it started to fall and I held it for a good hour before we finished installing the lift. It was scary as hell, but it worked.
