WJ front brakes need replacing, what should I use?

So I replaced my brakes on my WJ probably about this time last year, new pads and rotors. My rotors are beginning to warp so I'm in need of some new ones. The last ones I bought were from advance auto, which aren't the best quality IMO. I'm looking for a decent brake upgrade that won't burn my wallet up. I was looking into EBC setup, but their website sucks and I can't find prices anywhere for them.

I also looked on tire rack and might go with the Brembo blanks for about $50 a peice and maybe hawk pads?

Any other advice?

One more question, it's asking me if I have ATE or AKEBONO, what do I have? I'm assuming it's talking about the rotors I have, I know that some came with composite rotors and other had steel?

I replaced rotors with drilled rotors, and 15k later, almost all in steep grades and towing, no warpage yet, unlike the last plain rotors. I use AZ gold pads, and they seem to be just fine.. non-ceramic...

They're asking about the calipers. You SHOULD have akebono's on an '04. The other stock calipers on earlier models were Teve's which had a big spring clip on the outside of the caliper which is visible when you looked through the wheel at the caliper, this spring is about 10" long so if you have it you can't miss it.

sweet, I'll check it out tomorrow.

Looks like I'll go with a EBC setup with solid rotors and green pads.

Thanks

You should definitely have the Akebonos.

I used the Brembo rotors from TireRack on mine and have no complaints. Been over a year now.

I use Hawk high performance street pads, which ever they, are on power slot rotors...

DO NOT get power slot rotors, expensive and warp just as easily and their limited lifetime warranty does not cover warpage at any time. Their customer service is awful too.

The Hawk pads are good though, no dust. As far as stopping power, I think they are the same as any other decent pad. I'm changing mine out too, EBC green pads.

I have hawk pads all around on standard rotors with oem size tires. They work verry well. They tend to squeal slightly when cold though. If i didnt have abs they could lock up easy if you wanted

I may go either the brembo route or the EBC route, not sure if I will run the green EBC pads though, I'll probably run their OEM equal pad.

I like the stillen's too, but they are too expensive for me, not worth it IMO.

Thanks
