thinking about getting an exhaust system along with a K&N FIPK intake kit. i was thinking about the exhaust system that rustys off road sells. is that a good product? also what muffler should i get flowmasters 40, flow masters 50 or cherry bomb pro?

yeah i was thnking about kevins exhaust but i would much rather be paying $170 for an exhaust rather than $380 for something thats going to be only a little different.

You have to understand what you are getting here:

$170 will simply buy you a muffler and a crush bend tailpipe, possbily pay for install as well. This will hardly make a difference in performance, which is what you are going for correct?

$370 will buy you a FULL cat and back exhaust system, including a high flow Catalytic Converter, intermidiate pipe, muffler and MANDREL bend tail pipe. Plus for a few bones more you could go with a new header and y-pipe, giving you the most performance potential from a stock head and cammed motor.

If you want to make noise, then spend $170, but if you genuinely want better performance, lay down $370.

Horsepower ain't cheap.

the Rustys exhaust actually has a mandrel bent tailpipe, not crush bent.

If I'm not mistaken, the Rusty's exhaust is just the muffler and tailpipe.

a regular bender, makes wrinkles when it bends the pipe, reducing the diameter and smoothness of the bend and hurting the flow.
A mandrel bender keeps a consistent diameter with a smooth bend throughout. Much better for flow.
i dont know of any after-market exhaust company that sells anything "crush-bent."
